Mario Day 2026 is here, and Nintendo is treating it as far more than a routine annual sale. Today — March 10, or Mar10, the date that visually spells Mario — lands at the crossroads of a landmark franchise anniversary and a theatrical film release, giving this year’s celebration extra weight. Whether you are hunting discounts on Switch games, planning to catch a movie trailer, or heading to a Nintendo store for a character meetup, there is more on offer today than any previous MAR10 Day.

Here is everything confirmed and live right now.

Mario Day 2026 Deals: What Is on Sale and for How Long

The eShop sale went live earlier this week and runs through March 15 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Physical game discounts at participating retailers — including Nintendo NEW YORK, Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO, Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop — run March 8 through March 14.

Verified prices from the Nintendo eShop and major retailers include the following highlights, per Nintendo Everything and 9to5Toys:

Nintendo eShop (digital, available now through March 15):

  • Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope — $5.99 (was $59.99, 90% off)
  • Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Gold Edition — $8.99 (was $59.99, 85% off)
  • Luigi’s Mansion 3 — $40 (was $60)
  • Super Mario Maker 2 — $40 (was $60)
  • Super Mario RPG — $41.99 (was $59.99)
  • Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury — $40 (was $60)
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns HD — $41.99 (was $59.99)
  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong — $39.99 (was $49.99)

Physical retailer deals (March 8–14):

  • Super Mario Bros. Wonder — 30% off (UK: £34.77 / was £49.99)
  • Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury — 33% off (UK: £33.29 / was £49.99)
  • Super Mario Odyssey — $39.88 (was $59.99, 34% off at Walmart)
  • Mario & Luigi: Brothership — $29.83 (was $59.99, 50% off at Walmart)
  • Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door — $30 at select retailers
  • Mario Party Superstars — $42.99 (was $59.99, 28% off)
  • Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV — $61.98 (was $79.99, 22% off) — one of the first Switch 2 first-party titles to hit a sale price since the console’s June 2025 launch

The Mario + Rabbids deep cut is the most dramatic of the lot. At $5.99, it is the lowest the Ubisoft co-production has ever been priced.

Nintendo is also offering a $20 discount on the Samsung 256GB microSD Express Card at Nintendo stores through March 14, alongside the game deals.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct

The bigger announcement this week for many fans was the Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct, which aired Monday, March 9 at 2 p.m. PT. Nintendo confirmed ahead of the broadcast that it would feature the final trailer for the film before its April 1, 2026 theatrical release, produced in collaboration with Illumination. The company also confirmed upfront that the Direct contained no new game announcements — anyone hoping for a Switch 2 title reveal alongside the trailer was advised to wait for a separate occasion.

The Galaxy Movie release date makes Mario Day the unofficial starting gun for what Nintendo is treating as a month-long campaign through April 1.

Mario Day 2026 In-Store Events at Nintendo NEW YORK and Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO

Nintendo NEW YORK and Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO are both hosting a week of activities running March 8 through 14. Shoppers can pick up select games at discounted prices and save $20 on a Samsung 256GB microSD Express Card during that window. Social Media Today

Beyond today, both stores are hosting a Mario Tennis Fever Tournament on Saturday, March 14, beginning at 11 a.m. local time. Mario Day 2026 and the 40th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros.

This year’s MAR10 Day carries extra weight as it coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. game, a milestone Nintendo has acknowledged as part of the broader celebrations. X The combination of a milestone anniversary, the Switch 2’s first Mario Day since its June 2025 launch, and an incoming theatrical release makes this the most layered Mar10 in the holiday’s history.

Nintendo also confirmed the addition of three classic titles to the Nintendo Switch Online library on March 10: Mario’s Tennis and Mario Clash join the Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics library, while Mario vs. Donkey Kong arrives on the Game Boy Advance side. X All three launch today.

A Mario Day 2026 Nintendo Switch 2 console bundle has also been officially confirmed, though full pricing and bundle details were still being rolled out as of this writing. Check Nintendo’s official store for current availability.

More Mario Day Extras Worth Knowing

Beyond the game deals and store events, a few additional promotions round out the Mario Day 2026 picture.

Nintendo Switch Online members who own Mario Kart World can participate in the new My Nintendo Open Series — a weekly race series that earns up to 310 My Nintendo Platinum Points per week. Those Platinum Points can be used to enter the SUPER NINTENDO WORLD sweepstakes and claim other digital rewards.

Nintendo is also offering a free seven-day Nintendo Switch Online trial for Mario Day, notably available even to accounts that have claimed the offer before. The Nintendo Today! app is featuring celebratory artwork throughout the week.

In Canada, EB Games locations are including a free exclusive keychain wristlet with any Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 game featuring Mario, from March 5 through March 31 while supplies last. A Lunchables partnership offers QR codes on packaging for a chance to win a Nintendo Switch 2.
